The Gordonvale Clontarf Academy provides an important school engagement mechanism for students. At Gordonvale there are four dedicated full time, locally-based Clontarf staff that mentor and counsel Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students while the school caters for their educational needs. The Academy uses a comprehensive approach of supportive relationships, a welcoming environment, and a diverse range of activities The students develop improved self-esteem and confidence which enables them to participate in education, employment and society in positive ways. All activities are planned within the focus areas of education, leadership, healthy lifestyles and sports.
