Gordonvale State High School is located 23km south of Cairns at the base of the world’s highest freestanding natural pyramid (922m) – Walshs Pyramid, (Bundadjarruga). Established at its present site in 1965, the school has developed a strong reputation for its provision of educational opportunities across academic, vocational, agricultural and sporting areas.
Our vision is for all our students to do their best, reach their true potential, achieve their individual goals and make a positve contribution to their communities. With a student population of approximately 850 students, our school is diverse enough to offer a full range of subjects, and something for everyone, while being able to value every student as an individual who is respected and supported to achieve their own ‘personal excellence’.
