Motto
Our school motto, 'Strive to Excel' underpins everything students and staff do at Gordonvale State High School. Students are encouraged to 'strive to excel' in their academic, community, cultural and sporting endeavours and are supported by their teachers in all curriculum areas and specialist staff and programs. Teachers are encouraged to 'strive to excel' in their professional practice and are supported by the school through collegial engagement and professional learning. We also acknowledge that excellence looks different for everyone.
Explicit Improvement Agenda
The school's 2022, Explicit Improvement focusses on four key areas.
Positive Behaviour for LearningGordonvale State High School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning school. Each week, students are explicitly taught the school's behaviour expectations in their House Groups. Students are acknowledged when they consistently meet these expectations and celebrated through the distribution of postcards and invitation to Rewards Days.
Involvement in our school community
Parents/carers are encouraged to play an active role in their child's education and attend school events such as our annual Meet and Greet at the beginning of the year, parent teacher interviews and information nights. Joining the Parents and Citizens Association is also a great way to become involved in the school community. More information is available on our
P&C page.
Welcome to Gordonvale State High School.
